FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When do I pay for my transport?

A: At Ten4 Auto Transport & Logistics LLC we don’t charge any upfront fees to book your transport. You would typically pay your deposit once a carrier is dispatched to your order meaning the carrier has agreed to the terms. The remaining owed can be paid on delivery or pickup depending on your preference.

Q: Is the transport door-to-door?

A: Our service levels include door to door transport unless you ask pickup or delivery at a terminal closest to your place. Sit back and relax as we load your vehicle at your residence, office or any convenient place for you and the carrier. Pickup & delivery could also be subject to accessibility & local laws on trucks, therefore you could be asked to meet the carrier in a mutually beneficial place.

Q: Can I specify a pickup and delivery date?

A: You can specify your 1st available pickup date, our goal is to pick up your vehicle on that day or as soon as possible after, depending on when a carrier is transporting on your route. If you need a specific pickup day then typically a premium cost is added to your transport to accommodate your request, contact your agent for details.

Q: What is the process if I want to book my transport?

A: We have multiple ways to book your transport 1) call our toll-free 1.833.GET.TEN4(438.8364) and speak to an agent. 2) visit our website www.ten4autotransport.com and start a live chat with an agent. 3) In your email quote click the button “Place Order” for the service required which could be Standard, Expedited or Enclosed transport.

Q: What payment methods do you accept?

A: Ten4 Auto Transport accepts all the major Credit cards like MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover & most other payment options including PayPal. Any balances due upon delivery or pickup can only be paid by cash, money order, or certified check as carriers do not accept credit cards or personal checks.

Q: How far in advance should I schedule my auto transport?

A: We suggest booking your transport at least 1 week before your 1st available date for pickup. Typically carriers don’t accept loads too far in advance unless they have multiple trucks on the same route, this ensures they make their pickup & delivery deadlines.

Q: How long will my delivery take?

A: Depending on your route delivery can take anywhere from 2–10 days, your agent will tell you the approximate time frame. It’s also important to remember drivers are limited by law to a specific number of miles and hours per day they can drive. Other variables that may affect transit times are deliveries along the route, severe weather, road conditions and typical delays.

Q: What is the process if I find damage to my vehicle upon delivery?

A: Inform the carrier immediately once your vehicle is delivered and clearly show any damage that occurred during transport on the “Bill of Lading”(BOL) before you sign for the delivery. Since the driver signed the BOL on pickup and indicated any damage then you can compare the 2 to verify damages. In most cases, you only have 7 days to file a claim & if not reported with the 7 days it just gives the insurance companies an excuse to deny your claim.

Q: Can I pack personal items in my car?

A: Auto carriers are not licensed to transport personal belongings like home movers, however, most drivers will allow up to 100lbs but this is totally subject to the drivers discretion. Personal items in your vehicle is discouraged as Ten4 Auto Transport & the carrier is not responsible or liable for any damage or loss to the items or damage to vehicles interior.

Q: What else do you ship other than cars, trucks & motorcycles?

A: Our access to over 2100 trucks in our transport network gives Ten4 Auto Transport the ability to ship vans, boats, RV’s even oversized vehicle loads & heavy equipment like tanks etc. If you have any questions about your specific shipping needs, please contact a Ten4 Auto Transport agent.

Q: Can Ten4 also ship inoperable vehicles, motorcycles or extra parts?

A: Yes we regularly ship inoperable cars & motorcycles once they roll & steer, it typically does cost more due to the extra work involved & equipment needed to load the vehicle onto the truck. Pickup times also tend to be longer due to fewer carriers on your route with the ability and/or equipment to transport inoperable cars, bikes can easily be pushed on or off the truck. Speak to one of our agents if you have special requirements.

Q: Can I track my shipment or get a shipment update?

A: Yes, once your vehicle is dispatched to a carrier you will be sent an email with the carriers information including carrier name, driver name, phone # & email. You can always call your agent to get an update on your vehicle position.

Q: What kind of truck will my car be shipped on?

A: Your vehicle will be transported on an open carrier unless an enclosed carrier is requested. The open carriers are typically multi-level carriers capable of moving up to 10 vehicles at a time. I’m sure you’ve seen the dealer cars being transported throughout your city at some time.

Q: When will my credit card be charged?

A: Your credit card is charged the deposit or full amount for your shipment based on the type of payment terms you requested. This payment  will be charged once the vehicle is assigned to a driver.

Q: Is my deposit refundable?

A: Ten4 Auto Transport does not charge your deposit until your vehicle is dispatched to a carrier for pickup. If your vehicle is then dispatched to a carrier your deposit will be NON-REFUNDABLE. If we receive prior notification before your vehicle is dispatched to a carrier you will be charged a $75 cancellation fee for work already completed.
